A good day

Andy doesn't work on Fridays (but he does on Saturdays), so Friday is our day to play. Yesterday, we went on a long walk and took Elliot to see some horses face-to-face. Then I painted while Elliot napped. After he woke up, we went to the aquarium. Elliot got extremely excited about the fish, more so than he did about the animals at the zoo - probably because they moved more and were closer to him. He said, "Hi," and waved to everything. We watched a very active octopus doing her creepy thing for a while, and some otters and jellyfish and puffins and sharks and sting-rays...and Elliot touched a starfish. Many times. "Gently."

We had counted on Elliot taking his second nap in the car on the way there or back, but he never did. We went home when he started to get unbearably grumpy. He perked up when we got home and ended up staying up until his usual bedtime. We ordered Thai food and dragged a few small mattresses down stairs to the living room, so we could cuddle and watch a movie there.

...it was a great day.

oh my goodness...that sounds like my perfect day. Animals, art, cute babies, starfish touching, and Thai food. It doesnt get much better than that. I want a day like that!
